Hhmm...

I don't have a lot to say at the moment so haven't blogged for like over a week (not that you'll know that because the font colour for the date is the same as my background!)

I feel hungover this morning but don't know why because I wasn't drunk last night...not even tipsy. So, it can't really be a hangover - it feels very much like one though.

My head hurts.
I'm really really hungry.
I feel tired.
My eyes sting a bit.

There's one good thing to all this though - hangovers usually wear off by mid afternoon so I should be well up for getting drunk by the time I go out tonight!

Piss off!!!

When I checked my inbox today I had yet another email from "Sally Anne". This time she was apologising for the message she'd left me? She explained how she really wanted to send me a hot picture of herself but was scared it would get all over the internet (she obviously doesn't know me very well). She assured me that she's a 'looker' though (some bloke told her) and she asked me to call her so that she could hear my voice (do you think she'd be disappointed to hear a female voice?) Apparently when I call her 090 number I have to give a 'special validation code'...hmmm I wonder why that is?

She's starting to annoy me now, blocking her as a sender doesn't seem to work.

Eye candy.

One thing that I miss from living at home is the posters I had on my bedroom wall of sexy men. So, this can be my new bedroom wall.

Kids say the funniest things

For those who don't know I have two nieces, Holly 6 and Kayleigh 8. They are so different it is unbelievable, but they're both little angels and I love em to bits! Let me introduce you...

Holly is crazy, she can't sit still and has absolutely no fear, if she goes quiet for longer than about 5 minutes we know there's something wrong.

As for Kayleigh, she's the total opposite. She's shy, cautious and prefers peace and quiet to noise.

They are at a great age at the moment, they tell you what they need and want and they are interested in just about everything. They're also good at making me laugh, I don't think they always mean to but they do!

On Saturday we were all up at my dad's house and my boyfriend Bri was outside building the stone wall (has been for weeks now, slow process apparently). Kayleigh was inside drawing and Hollie being her usual self was outside 'helping' Bri. When I say helping I mean creating chaos, Bri would smooth some mortar over the wall and Holly would make holes in it by stabbing it with a trowel.

Bri was very good and just humoured her, bless. I decided to leave them to it and went inside, Holly doesn't feel the cold - I do.

About 15 minutes later Holly ran through the door full of excitement, shouting 'Aunty Jo guess what, guess what?'

I hardly had chance to reply before she said 'Uncle Bri says my three fourty five's in the post!' Holly was grinning from ear to ear thinking she was getting paid 345 for helping...clearly what Bri had said was 'your P45 is in the post' (meaning you're useless, you're sacked).

This may not seem very funny reading it but at the time it was hilarious, we were all in fits of laughter. I didn't have the heart to tell her what he really meant, I don't think Bri did either.

I'm a nice person

I've set myself a new aim. Each day I have to do something nice, this something could be helping someone out or just making someone smile. I don't know how long I'll keep it up for but here goes...

Yesterday - I hugged someone who I think needed a hug (if you are reading I hope it brought a smile to your day!)

Today - somebody had a headache, I offered them hot chocolate and ibuprofen.

I'm a nice person.

Stop world, it's snowing.

I woke up this morning and was very disappointed that it was not white outside. It seems most of the country has been struck by snow apart from the North-West (fingers crossed for later on today).

Anyway, it appears that snow is no longer fun and pretty, it's disastrous and evil and frightening and we must all STOP what we're doing! We can't possibly stay at work and really we shouldn't venture into the outside world. The best thing to do is stock up on food rations and STAY INDOORS, preferably wrapped up in cotton wool.

And, most importantly - DO NOT EAT THE SNOW. It contains evil snow fleas, like the one pictured to the left (you should be able to see them because they're about a foot long). Please take great care as these deadly creatures have poisonous venom.

I wish you all the best of luck in this difficult time.

Money hurts

It's official, money really does hurt. Let me tell you how I came about this conclusion... last night at college we started lecture 2 of our Finance module. I strolled in at 6pm, obviously not filled with joy at the thought of 3 hours of accounting, but yet I wasn't miserable either - finance is logical, it all adds up and makes sense. At least I thought so.

So, onto Appraisal Investment. It didn't start off too bad, looking at the payback method and the Accounting Rate of Return (ARR), then it went onto Net Present Values - that's where it all went horribly wrong. I can't get my head around the whole discount rates and what money is worth at the moment if you have so much in x number of years time???

I did feel rather sorry for the tutor at the end of it, after about the 5th or 6th attempt at explaining it, we still all had blank yet confused expressions on our faces. By 9pm I think he finally got it - WE DON'T UNDERSTAND IT!!!

Anyway, at the end of it I had a really bad headache and it's still lingering this morning. So, as I say money hurts.

I love you

Getting into the spirit of Valentine's day, here's a few things I love, along with angeldumpling explanations:

My family - you can't choose them, but even if you could I wouldn't change mine.

Bri - goes without saying really. Poor lad deserves a medal for putting up with me!

Friends - mates are great. Good for a laugh and essential when slagging men off.

Food - really needs no explanation at all.

Sun - yellow, warm and makes people happy. Best enjoyed with a beach and cocktails.

Shopping - love it! Lack of capital is often an issue though.

Alcohol - fun, fun and fun. Can transform an evening from dull to exciting in a very short space of time.

Music - everyone loves it, but the best thing is that everyone loves different kinds.

Holidays - a combination of the above really: involves chilling out, eating, drinking, having fun and most importantly NO WORK!!!

The cool thing about all of these is that they complement each other...apart from alcohol and shopping, I don't think spending money whilst drunk is a good idea.

That's it for now, spread the happiness and say 'i love you' to somebody today!
