Hhmm...

I don't have a lot to say at the moment so haven't blogged for like over a week (not that you'll know that because the font colour for the date is the same as my background!)

I feel hungover this morning but don't know why because I wasn't drunk last night...not even tipsy. So, it can't really be a hangover - it feels very much like one though.

My head hurts.
I'm really really hungry.
I feel tired.
My eyes sting a bit.

There's one good thing to all this though - hangovers usually wear off by mid afternoon so I should be well up for getting drunk by the time I go out tonight!

Piss off!!!

When I checked my inbox today I had yet another email from "Sally Anne". This time she was apologising for the message she'd left me? She explained how she really wanted to send me a hot picture of herself but was scared it would get all over the internet (she obviously doesn't know me very well). She assured me that she's a 'looker' though (some bloke told her) and she asked me to call her so that she could hear my voice (do you think she'd be disappointed to hear a female voice?) Apparently when I call her 090 number I have to give a 'special validation code'...hmmm I wonder why that is?

She's starting to annoy me now, blocking her as a sender doesn't seem to work.

Eye candy.

One thing that I miss from living at home is the posters I had on my bedroom wall of sexy men. So, this can be my new bedroom wall.

Kids say the funniest things

For those who don't know I have two nieces, Holly 6 and Kayleigh 8. They are so different it is unbelievable, but they're both little angels and I love em to bits! Let me introduce you...

Holly is crazy, she can't sit still and has absolutely no fear, if she goes quiet for longer than about 5 minutes we know there's something wrong.

As for Kayleigh, she's the total opposite. She's shy, cautious and prefers peace and quiet to noise.

They are at a great age at the moment, they tell you what they need and want and they are interested in just about everything. They're also good at making me laugh, I don't think they always mean to but they do!

On Saturday we were all up at my dad's house and my boyfriend Bri was outside building the stone wall (has been for weeks now, slow process apparently). Kayleigh was inside drawing and Hollie being her usual self was outside 'helping' Bri. When I say helping I mean creating chaos, Bri would smooth some mortar over the wall and Holly would make holes in it by stabbing it with a trowel.

Bri was very good and just humoured her, bless. I decided to leave them to it and went inside, Holly doesn't feel the cold - I do.

About 15 minutes later Holly ran through the door full of excitement, shouting 'Aunty Jo guess what, guess what?'

I hardly had chance to reply before she said 'Uncle Bri says my three fourty five's in the post!' Holly was grinning from ear to ear thinking she was getting paid 345 for helping...clearly what Bri had said was 'your P45 is in the post' (meaning you're useless, you're sacked).

This may not seem very funny reading it but at the time it was hilarious, we were all in fits of laughter. I didn't have the heart to tell her what he really meant, I don't think Bri did either.

I'm a nice person

I've set myself a new aim. Each day I have to do something nice, this something could be helping someone out or just making someone smile. I don't know how long I'll keep it up for but here goes...

Yesterday - I hugged someone who I think needed a hug (if you are reading I hope it brought a smile to your day!)

Today - somebody had a headache, I offered them hot chocolate and ibuprofen.

I'm a nice person.

Stop world, it's snowing.

I woke up this morning and was very disappointed that it was not white outside. It seems most of the country has been struck by snow apart from the North-West (fingers crossed for later on today).

Anyway, it appears that snow is no longer fun and pretty, it's disastrous and evil and frightening and we must all STOP what we're doing! We can't possibly stay at work and really we shouldn't venture into the outside world. The best thing to do is stock up on food rations and STAY INDOORS, preferably wrapped up in cotton wool.

And, most importantly - DO NOT EAT THE SNOW. It contains evil snow fleas, like the one pictured to the left (you should be able to see them because they're about a foot long). Please take great care as these deadly creatures have poisonous venom.

I wish you all the best of luck in this difficult time.

Money hurts

It's official, money really does hurt. Let me tell you how I came about this conclusion... last night at college we started lecture 2 of our Finance module. I strolled in at 6pm, obviously not filled with joy at the thought of 3 hours of accounting, but yet I wasn't miserable either - finance is logical, it all adds up and makes sense. At least I thought so.

So, onto Appraisal Investment. It didn't start off too bad, looking at the payback method and the Accounting Rate of Return (ARR), then it went onto Net Present Values - that's where it all went horribly wrong. I can't get my head around the whole discount rates and what money is worth at the moment if you have so much in x number of years time???

I did feel rather sorry for the tutor at the end of it, after about the 5th or 6th attempt at explaining it, we still all had blank yet confused expressions on our faces. By 9pm I think he finally got it - WE DON'T UNDERSTAND IT!!!

Anyway, at the end of it I had a really bad headache and it's still lingering this morning. So, as I say money hurts.

I love you

Getting into the spirit of Valentine's day, here's a few things I love, along with angeldumpling explanations:

My family - you can't choose them, but even if you could I wouldn't change mine.

Bri - goes without saying really. Poor lad deserves a medal for putting up with me!

Friends - mates are great. Good for a laugh and essential when slagging men off.

Food - really needs no explanation at all.

Sun - yellow, warm and makes people happy. Best enjoyed with a beach and cocktails.

Shopping - love it! Lack of capital is often an issue though.

Alcohol - fun, fun and fun. Can transform an evening from dull to exciting in a very short space of time.

Music - everyone loves it, but the best thing is that everyone loves different kinds.

Holidays - a combination of the above really: involves chilling out, eating, drinking, having fun and most importantly NO WORK!!!

The cool thing about all of these is that they complement each other...apart from alcohol and shopping, I don't think spending money whilst drunk is a good idea.

That's it for now, spread the happiness and say 'i love you' to somebody today!

£££££

Went to the cash machine today and had a very nice surprise in the form of 4 digits. Loan has come through. I give it about 7 days and it'll all be gone.

shaken not stirred

On Saturday night we had our big Xmas party and the theme was James Bond, Casino Royale. It was absolutely ace, we all had to dress up as Bonds and Bond girls - everyone looked really good!

When we got there we had Martini Vodkas - these were rather strong and as a result many people didn't like them. I don't like things going to waste, especially not alcohol, so I did the decent thing and drank the 4 unwanted ones from my table.

Then it was on to wine, the girl next to me was driving so I had her 2 glasses and also made sure that I got mine topped up as frequently as possible.

The next hour or so mainly involved eating, and for once I'm not going to dwell on the food...I've found something far more important to discuss. Gambling!!!

There was a mini casino upstairs and we got pretend money with Bond on it! It was really busy so we had to wait ages to get onto a table, but it was worth the wait. We swapped our money for chips and began to play. We went for the Pontoon table as it was apparently the easiest to grasp, I can see that now. After 4 Vodka Martinis, 5 glasses of wine & a Smirnoff Ice even I understood it!

It's fun gambling when it's not real money cos' it doesn't really matter if you lose. I still wanted to win though and even tried flirting with the dealer to get more chips. That didn't work.

I got so caught up in the card playing the next thing I knew it was midnight. And, just like Cinderella it was time for me to go. Time flies when you're having fun (and when you're rather pissed).

Girls Aloud n' I'm proud!

The sun's shining and I'm listening to Girls Aloud on my ipod, yes I said Girls Aloud. The only negative factor in the equation is being at work.

I've decided that listening to Girls Aloud at work is not a good idea, it makes me want to get drunk, go out, sing and dance!

I better revert back to some depressing music such as Snow Patrol.

Get that Friday feeling

I've really got the Friday feeling today, I don't know why cos I'm not doing anything particularly exciting this weekend. That doesn't matter though - IT'S THE WEEKEND in under 2 hours!!!

If you're in need of the Friday feeling then watch this cool YouTube video

Looking forward.

After my previous post I felt I should stop being so bloody miserable. I feel much better this week, I'm less tired and nearly rid of my lingering cold. College wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be and most importantly the new series of Shameless starts tonight!

I feel I should set myself 5 aims for this year:

- Frown less and smile more
- Get up slightly earlier in the morning so I'm not rushing about like a mad woman
- Be less high maintenance
- Try to exercise a little, maybe once a week...or month...or something...
- Have more Bisto 'aah nights' (if you haven't seen the advert this means family nights)

"I feel...cold"

New Year means a fresh start.

It also means that loads of cool programmes are starting again (The OC, Celeb BB, Desperate Housewives, Shameless...I could go on). It means going to the gym and getting fit, looking forward to spring, summer and maybe sunshine. More importantly it means booking our flights to Thailand!!! Yay!!!

I should therefore be feeling happy and excited, but I don't. I'm sick of waking up to grey, dark and rainy mornings and getting soaking waiting for the bus. I'm also really tired, I would have thought the xmas break would have left me feeling refreshed but it hasn't - I just feel shattered!

As for going to the gym, I really can't be bothered. Normally the new year is great motivation for getting fit but this year it just isn't. I'm trying to eat healthy but all I really wanna do is stuff my face with chocolate and crisps and takeaways and other rubbish!

The worst thing though - I've had 4 weeks off college and am really dreading going back.

So that's it - I'm starting 2007 feeling miserable.

Oh yeah, can anyone guess what great film the title is from???

Happy New Year!

It's now the 3rd Jan and I still have a hangover. It was worth it though, I had the best New Year's Eve ever.

Blackpool was crazy as expected and the hotel was not great, but it was reasonably clean. The club we went to was absolutely bouncing and didn't kick us out until about 4. We then carried on the party back at the hotel...the bar didn't bother shutting so we felt it was only right to just carry on drinking.

At about 8.30 they started serving breakfast and I managed to stomach some sausage and beans on toast. We had to leave the rooms about 10 so didn't see any point sleeping. The only problem then was that we couldn't set off home until our designated drivers sobered up... what a long wait.

So, I finally got to bed sometime in the afternoon on New Year's day and then had to go into work the next day. What fun.

I seem to be treating my hangover with food. I really just cannot stop eating, like worse than normal. I've worked out why though - now Ben's left I have to eat his share of food. Thanks Ben for making me fat.
